About
I created my Steam account on September 12, 2003, before it was even a store.
My first real purchase came on October 28, 2007: The Orange Box. Half-Life 2, Portal, Team Fortress 2 in one box. It was a great deal. Then in 2009 Steam launched their first sales, and that's where the trouble started.
Over the years the library grew faster than I could play. Then I had kids, and suddenly "I'll play that one next" became "I'll play that one someday." Someday kept getting pushed back.
In 2026 I made a decision: buy less games and actually work through what I already have. I won't finish all of them, and that's fine. I just want to try them all.
And to help with that while learning new things, I decided to create this app: BacklogPlanner. I know there are already plenty of tools, but I wanted something simple that works exactly like I want, without tons of features I don't need. You connect your Steam library, see everything ranked by Metacritic score and How Long to Beat time, and track what you've played.
